The piece, properly
Most hoops shine everywhere and say nothing. The Quarter Light is brushed matte for three quarters of its curve; the final quarter is polished to a mirror. As you move, one bright arc travels the hoop and disappears. It reads as detail, not decoration — right for offices, better for the dinner after.
The finish came from a mistake: a polishing wheel touched only part of a matte sample, and the contrast was better than either surface alone. We kept the accident and made it repeatable.

- How should I store plated jewellery?
- In the pouch it arrives in, dry and away from other pieces. Plating wears from friction and chemistry: perfume, sweat and rubbing against harder metals are its three enemies. Spray perfume first, wear jewellery last.
